Oriya / Odia Bhagavad Gita, is a part of the 5th Veda (written by Vedavyasa - ancient Indian saint) and Indian Epic - Mahabharata. It was narrated for the first time in the battle of Kurukshetra, by Lord Krishna to Arjun.
The Oriya / Odia Bhagavad Gita, also referred to as Gita, is a 700–verse Dharmic scripture that is part of the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. This scripture contains a conversation between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide Krishna on a variety of philosophical issues.
The Oriya / Odia Bhagavad Gita is one of the profoundest books of Indian spirituality. It is special in its structure of thought and in its language. It does not seek to confine itself to any one school or religious view but in fact, “there is a wide, undulating, encircling movement of ideas which is the manifestation of a vast synthetic mind and a rich synthetic experience… It does not cleave asunder, but reconciles and unifies.”
Studying, understanding or simply listening to the Oriya / Odia Bhagavad Gita forms a part of life for millions of people not just in India but world over. Many commentaries have been written, giving diverse interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita . In Sri Aurobindo’s phenomenal work titled ‘Essays on the Bhagavad Gita ’, we enter into the spirit of the Oriya / Odia Bhagavad Gita and look at the truth with a deep insight.
